Phillip R. Quochytewa, a member of the Hopi Tribe, is the first Native American to be named to Arizona's Veterans' Service Advisory Commission.

Quochytewa, a Vietnam veteran and retired Bureau of Indian Affairs police captain, is former chairman of the tribe. He said he will raise awareness of Native American veterans as part of the state board.
