University working with four tribes on excavation
Wednesday, October 8, 2003

Archaeologists at Southern Methodist University in Texas are working with four tribes on the excavation of a Pueblo site in New Mexico.

Dr. Michael Adler said it is ethical and necessary to work with the Hopi, Zuni, Acoma and Laguna tribes. An advisory team from each of the tribes helps researchers at the Chavez-Hummingbird Pueblo, which was occupied during the 14th and 15th centuries.
