Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. is not fulfilling promises to reform the tribal government, secure water rights, improve economic development and ensure the federal government is accountable, The Farmington Daily Times says in an editorial.

"Don�t expect any answers from his office on these issues," the paper says. "Instead, expect a long three years until the next election."

The paper said Shirley's "honeymoon was over the moment he took office" but hasn't done anything to improve the lives of Navajo people. "Is Shirley his own man or does he serve an unknown master?" the paper asks.
