Live coverage of AFN convention available online

Live gavel-to-gavel coverage of the annual Alaska Federation of Natives convention
begins today on KNBA 90.3 FM. An audio feed of the station is available at

Scheduled speakers include Alaska Gov. Frank Murkowski (R), Indian Health Service director Dr. Charles Grim, National Congress of American Indians executive director Jackie Johnson, and National Museum of the American Indian director Rick West.
Sen. Ted Stevens (R), who has sparked controversy with plans to consolidate funding
for Alaska tribes, is not on the agenda. Neither are Bureau of Indian Affairs representatives.
The convention runs through Saturday.
