The Billings Gazette has published a list of nearly 400 U.S. military men and women who have died in Iraq during the war. The list was compiled by the Associated Press but may be incomplete due to recent casualties.

The first woman to die in the war was Lori Piestewa, a member of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona. She is also the first documented case of a Native woman dying in combat.
