Salt River Reservation host to two major projects
Tuesday, December 2, 2003

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Reservation in Arizona will host two projects worth more than $1 billion.

More than 200 tribal members who own allotted land on the reservation negotiated with Phoenix commercial developer Mainspring Capital Group for a $600 million development deal. Plans call for a 4 million-square-foot business park and other office space along a major highway.

Separately, the tribe signed a $400 million deal with the Alter Group for a 2 million-square-foot office and retail park. The tribe will impose property and other taxes on businesses for both the Mainspring and Alter Group projects.
