Native American children should be taught their language and culture in school, The Farmington Daily Times says in an editorial.

"It was not long ago that Native Americans were not allowed to speak their own language, perpetuate their customs or practice their traditional religion," the paper says. "In a misguided attempt to mainstream the indigenous people of North America, it was decided that all of us must be the same. It was 'E Pluribus Unum' run amok."
