FRIDAY, MAY 3, 2002

Research published in today's issue of Science suggests the hole in the Ozone may be responsible for a cooling trend over the Antarctica.

A university and federal scientist say the hole may be causing stronger winds which trap cold air at the South Pole. Over the past few decades, Antarctic temperatures have dropped slightly.

Elsewhere, the Ozone hole is blamed for rising temperatures.
