Mohegan Tribe scales back aquaculture venture

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is scaling back its aquaculture business due to lack of profits.

The tribe will halt its shellfishing operations in Stonington waters by October. The tribe plans to continue operations elsewhere.

The tribe launched a big fisheries venture in 2000 in an attempt to diversify its holdings. Non-Indians tried to stop the tribe from moving forward.
