A federal judge in Maryland has taken a stand against the racist name of the Washington NFL team.

Judge Peter J. Messitte has told attorneys not to use the team's name in court. And in a recent ruling, he said he would not use the name unless it appears in a direct quote.

Messite is handling a lawsuit in which a former NFL player is accusing a former Washington player of inflicting an intentional injury.
