The Winnebago Tribe is looking to develop a casino at a former racetrack in Nebraska.

The tribe acquired the Atokad Downs site a year ago. Live races ended in September 2012 and it now functions as an events center.

But Ho-Chunk Inc, the tribe's economic development corporation, envisions a $30 million to $40 million facility there. The plan depends on a state constitutional amendment to authorize slot machines at racetracks.
