The Seneca Nation is the latest tribe to join the commercial gaming race in New York. Seneca Gaming Corporation plans to manage a casino for the developers of the Traditions at the Glen, The Albany Times-Union reported. The group is competing for the license for the Southern Tier/Finger Lakes Region. Five tribes are now seeking to run commercial casinos in the state. The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma wants to manage facility in the Capital Region while the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut and the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohican Indians are vying for the Catskills-Hudson Valley Region, which is expected to be awarded two licenses. The Senecas recently dropped plans for another off-reservation casino due to local opposition. Get the Story:
