Bill aimed at stopping Goshute waste dump revived

Rep. Rob Bishop (R-Utah) is reintroducing a bill aimed at stopping the Skull Valley Goshute Tribe from locating a nuclear waste dump on the reservation.

The bill would create a "wilderness area" on 100,000 acres in the Cedar Mountains next to the reservation. The designation would presumably block a rail line needed to transport waste to the proposed site.

Bishop says the bill includes provisions to help the tribe with economic development. It would provide land for various projects.
