Brother of O'odham chair arrested for drugs

The brother of Tohono O'odham Nation President Vivian Juan-Saunders was arrested by tribal police earlier this month after being found with 137 pounds of marijuana, The Arizona Daily Star reports.
Nicholas C. Juan, 39, was pulled over by tribal police on September 15. After they noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car, they found six bales of the drug in the trunk with an estimated street vale of $68,500.
The paper said Juan is the second sibling of Juan-Saunders to face drug charges. In 1999, Mary Audrey Dolaretta Juan, a former tribal judge, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute marijuana and spent two years in prison.
Juan-Saunders is married to Tohono O'odham Police Chief Richard Saunders.
