Pine Ridge president faces another complaint

A second complaint has been filed against Cecilia Fire Thunder, the first woman president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota.

The charges are much the same as a prior complaint that was dismissed. William Birdnecklace Tate, a former tribal employee, says Fire Thunder disrespected tribal elders over a $38 million loan she secured from another tribe. He says she is overstepping her authority and trying to run the entire tribe.

The complaint will be heard on Tuesday, October 25, by the tribal council. In July, the council dismissed an attempt to suspend Fire Thunder.
