Newspaper calls on Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (R) to approve off-reservation casinos for the Bay Mills Indian Community:
Bill Schuette, Michigan’s attorney general, has taken the lead on the Bay Mills casino matter. He has fought the casino quest without success. Now it’s the governor’s turn. Instead of devoting more state money and resources to stopping Bay Mills’ casinos, perhaps it’s time to work out a compromise. The Supreme Court didn’t turn out to be the last word on Bay Mills’ plans. Snyder should find a way to permit the Vanderbilt casino to operate and above all, to let a Port Huron casino finally come to life.Get the Story:
