Navajo Nation slowly reopening Boys & Girls Clubs

The Navajo Nation is slowly reopening the 14 Boys and Girls Clubs on the reservation.

All 14 were closed two years ago amid a power and financial struggle between the tribe and a non-profit organization. The tribe eventually took control of the clubs and has restarted the program.

Next on the list is the club in Shiprock, New Mexico, which is expected to open in February. A benefit will be held today and tomorrow to help raise money for the club.
