Students review school's role in telescope project
Friday, October 31, 2003

The University of Minnesota student senate will review the school's participation in a telescope project on sacred land in Arizona.

Several tribes in the Southwest have been fighting the Mount Graham telescope project for years. They say the development will hurt sacred sites.

Ola Cassadore Davis, chairwoman of the Apache Survivor Coalition, addressed the issue before the student senate yesterday. Student leaders want to raise awareness of the issue.
