North Dakota company prints 'No Sioux' t-shirt

A North Dakota company is stirring tensions with a t-shirt that proclaims "No Sioux Logo No Sioux Casinos!"

Originals Inc. began printing the t-shirts about a week ago. They are selling for $14.95 on the company's website but not everyone wants to buy one.

"It's certainly not going to help matters," UND spokesperson Peter Johnson told The Grand Forks Herald. "It might inflame things a little bit. It's certainly not going to be perceived by many as positive."

Leigh Jeanotte, the director of American Indian Student Services at UND, called the t-shirt "truly sad and very disrespectful." "These types of actions are going to continue if we continue with this name," she told the paper.

The first batch of the t-shirts featured UND's "Fighting Sioux" logo. The company has since removed the logo from the design.
